  • Prejudice means to prejudge or assume
  • A stereotype is a generalization applied to a group or category
  • Discrimination occurs when someone acts to harm or deny others based on a stereotype or prejudice
  • Racism (sexism, ageism, etc.) is the result of prejudice plus power. There are 3 types of racism: unaware, individual and institutional
  • Internalized oppression is limiting oneself based on externally defined group stereotypes
